The interesting thing about the SGA-Unity kerfuffle was always that they were willing to fund whatever budget we requested (no budget request was ever denied), but were not willing to recognize us as an official SGA club. We received over a grand in funding while I was president, but recognition as a student government club was never approved.

Go figure.

Not really sure they need that kind of funding though. I know I wrote like 2 checks at most for the year I was treasurer.

There is a difference between being an SGA club and being a recognized campus organization. Unity was always recognized by the administration and had an advisor; the question is SGA recognition and funding from the students' activity fees.
