It did, however, allow me to have Cthulhu playing himself in an RPG, which is, of course, the only character he would ever play. I seem to remember some D&D or Call of Cthulhu sourcebook explaining that Cthulhu ate 1d6 cultists per round, but I can’t seem to find the reference on the internet.
All of these jokes, of course, were completely unfunny to 90% of the population, even at a geeky school like Rose.

I so have a Call of Cthulhu sourcebook somewhere. I’ll try to remember and dig it up tomorrow – I think it’s to do with where you’re positioned by his massive body – if he can reach you with his tentacles he’ll kill a certain amount of people per round for sure, and it is just a single dice roll.
