I grew up in the Phoenix area, so I had never encountered a radiator in real life, and I found it charming that they looked exactly like the ones in the movies. There was a fateful day when they turned them on, and they were always careful to notify everyone about it. I doubt they ever got hot enough to start fires, but I bet they could burn you or melt a thumb drive if you were especially unlucky.
Judging by the mention of a final project, this ran near the end of the fall quarter, in early November.
